Re: TOY: Car and Driver: Ford Explorers
>Getting a little cocky aren't we Robert?
Cranky is more like it...
>I didn't misinterpret anything you said - you came out ranting and calling
>people names (like "idiot") just because they happen to like SUV's...
Calling SUV owners who have no need for 4wd "urban idiots" is a far cry
from calling for legislation against SUVs or telling people what to buy. I
stand by my implicit assertion that buying a Luxo-barge Faux Wheeler for a
grocery getter/kid hauler is idiotic. Hey, I've been called worse,
sometimes deservedly! But if people want to pay that kind of money for a
pimped out pickup chassis when they could have a superb euro wagon for the
same money, I say power to 'em!
>Check your own words my friend... and check them good... Especially that
>opening sentence of your "rant"...
Which opening sentence? This one from my first post:
>Last year I was following an Exploder in rush hour traffic and the driver
>made an evasive lane change that wasn't all that abrupt and ended up
>sliding down the shoulder on it's top.
or this one from my second post?:
>Good Lord! Who said anything about legislating -ANYTHING-!
I don't get your point... In any case, if by "opening sentence" you mean
something other than the first non-quoted sentence written by me, then
maybe the -private- schools aren't doing all that hot with the basics!
Maybe you mean the -second- sentence of my first post, which was only
included at the beginning of my second post for reference:
> To let everyone know how unbiased I am: I -HATE- SUVs!
That whole juxtaposition of "unbiased" with "hate" is a little literary
device known as irony. If -that- went over your head I refer you back to
my earlier statement regarding the efficacy of private education to instill
the fundamentals.
