Personally, I love the influx of SUV's and pickups.  Mainly because in a few
years as the next fad hits and folks get tired of poor fuel mileage, they'll
be tons of 4x4 Grand Cherokees, 4Runners, Expeditions, Excursions, etc. on
the market at low prices.  As an added bonus, most of these vehicles should
be in great shape, heck most of their transfer cases probably haven't been
put in 4lo.  Also, while SUV's may not be the most practical "grocery
getter", everyone should have a right to drive what they want (or can
afford).

BTW I drive a F350 on my 100+ mi commute daily, how's that for practical.
