Agreed. I've just seen too many frames pulled apart at the steering box.
Now I can argue that this is a direct result of insufficient fabrication
beef at that juncture, but certainly, this is stressed by bigger beef
downstream.

And it would HELP lower my center of balance! ;)

I've had that thought as well -- problem is, I already run a Marlink up
there AND have a spare. Oops!
