<snip> This is also first report of 5.29 gears in an electric locker. <snip>
Actually, I got an email from somebody several months ago who had succesfully
put turbo/V6 5.29's in an electric locker (lo-pinion). I thought I had forwarded
it to you as an FYI, but maybe not. I thought the significance of yesterday's
email (from Lance) was solely regarding the hi-pinion electrics...
Anyway, now we know for sure - the electric locking diffs use the same R&P's
as their open counterparts. :)
As for skid plates, I think a modified Persson Offroad skid plate might provide
good protection for the vulnerable actuator parts.
In regard to Marlin, I was merely trying to help and (try) to provide info on
the hi-pinion locker by quoting his page. Hopefully you (Karl) didn't feel
I was rubbing your nose in it. Your perserverence in finding the answers for
yourself has definitely paid off.
Also, I thought I had heard that Marlin had removed a case and was "only" running
dual cases... ??? Not that it really matters, just curious. I'm also curious
why he switched to the electrics.
