I got a lot of heat from people about my FJ80 diff and putting it in.
Most people said it couldn't be done and they all quoted Marlin. So, I
am not rubbing Marlin's nose but everyone elses. Marlin was asked
directly and he confirmed he didn't know but assumed it was like the
rear diff. Everyone didn't have first hand information and but assumed
they knew because they read it on Marlin's web page. So, Marlin
retracted his statement on his web page and he is now reported to run
them. What counts is getting to the source of the information and
ignoring everyone else who think they know something but don't.
Anyway, someone called Marlin today and he confirmed that he is running
dual hi pinion electric locking diffs with 5.29RC gears. This is also
first report of 5.29 gears in an electric locker. So, I just wanted to
confirm that someone has actually seen Marlin's triple-case truck with
electric lockers. I don't want to know what he was running a few months
back.
