TOY: RE: 33" Tires - Need a Lift?
I'd say at a minimum, you'll need about 3" of lift if you want to avoid
rubbing off-road. I've got Downey 1.5" coils and a 1" body lift on my '95
and I'm running 32's. The torsion bars are only cranked to about 14"
currently. The tires don't rub anywhere right now, but the rear really
tucks up in the wheel well nicely. It looks like it'll be really close when
I go to 33's, so we'll see. If they just rub a little, I'll just get out
the clearancing tool (BFH). If they rub a lot, I may have to get a rear
coil spacer. I'll just crank the front up a little more if I need to. With
the less-than-stellar flex of the IFS, I don't anticipate too many problems
up front. If you're going w/ a 10.5" wide tire (Swampers?) rather than a
12.5", that'll probably help some.

Subject: TOY: 33" Tires - Need a Lift?
I'm considering upping my tire size to 33x10.5x15 from the stock 31x10.5x15
setup on my '94 4Runner SR5 4x4. Does anyone out there know if I will need
to do a lift of any sort to fit the tires without any rubbing? I'm debating
a body lift, but I'm looking to get out cheap.
Also, on the side, if anyone is interested, click the opinion poll link
below. It's something my friend put together and is trying to publicize. I
should tell him to add some OHV questions on there too!
