TOY: 4Cyl VS V6 motor mount points

OK all you engine swappers out there - I was told that the 4 cylinder
motor mounts would work in a V-6 and all that is needed is to add a piece
of metal for a spacer to compensate for the added width of the motor
mounts. Does this sound reasonable? I've been thinking of saving some
fab time and getting some AA 4-cyl motor mounts and modifying them
(~$100). If I can save a lot of time trying to cut and weld something
together then it's worth it...

My current wacked out thinking is that I'm going to try the conversion
over a long weekend - Pull it apart thursday night and drive it to the
exhaust shop monday morning... In order to do this I've really GOT to be
thourough on gettng all the parts in order and all my "ducks in a row" so
that I spend most of the time bolting the thing together and cleaning up
the wiring. The only thing that I haven't totally finalized is the A/C
splice - I found out that one of the supercharger kits requires an a/c
line splice and move of the compressor so I'll be calling on that...

Am I nuts - probably! but if I can get everything bolted up (engine,
trans, crawler box) then it's a matter of pull and swap. I guess it's
really not going to be "finished" at that point but I'm planning NOT to
have to drive my junker F150 to work ;-)

Anyone in the Kansas City area that wants to gawk or lend a hand I'd be
more than willing to pay in food and beverages :-)
