TOY: Fwd: Tellico fee tube break-ins

Anyone at Dixie Run in Tellico, please read and respond if you can help - 
this is sickening...

To anyone who was at Tellico last weekend:

I am asking for your assistance on a law enforcement matter.  Sometime over
the weekend someone broke into the two pay tubes at Allen Gap (entrance from
Murphy) and at the State Line (entrance from Tellico Plains) and stole all
the money. Apparently it was someone with a torch and equipment to basically
destroy the top of each tube.

As most of you know, Southern 4WD Association built most of those entrance
stations and the fees are used directly at Tellico to maintain our 4WD
trails. Therefore all of us have a vested interest in finding the perpetrators
and prevent this type of crime in the future.

We had a lot of folks out there over the weekend at the Dixie Run and the
Rangers need any assistance we can get to try to find the perpetrators.
Please spread the word and ask if anyone can tell us when the last time
anyone saw the pay tubes still intact. Email me (Stefan Roth) with the

If anyone saw anything or anyone suspicious, please contact the Rangers 
directly.
