Re: TOY: Re: 22RE EFI Harness ?

I don't know if I did a good job explaining what I did to my harness.... I
unplugged the plugs that went to non-EFI related items (dash lights, horn,
wipers, windows, etc, etc) - but not the wires from the plugs. I left the
connections necessary for the EFI still plugged in.

Once everything was unplugged except for the items absolutely necessary for
the EFI to run, and the car still started and ran, I labeled the entire
harness - every connection with either a "remove" or a "keep".

I then removed the entire harness. I cut one wire at a time from each
"remove" plug. I followed it downstream and if it didn't end up at the fuse
box, but ended up t-ing off of another wire I would cut it off at the "t",
and cap it with a piece of adhesive lined shrink tubing pinched off with a
pliers.

I did this for every wire on every "remove" plug until I was down to what I
needed.

Then I put it back into the car and started it, and even drove it up and
down the driveway a few times to be sure that everything was still running
good.

I am convinced that this is the easiest way for a moron like myself to go
about dissecting a wiring harness ;-)
