This might prove a useful tip for someone:
Rather than disconnecting the brake line every time you need to pull the
knuckle or caliper etc, you can cut a notch in the sheetmetal bracket that
the soft/hard line junction passes through on the knuckle. Just cut it
wide enough to slip the hard line through after you remove the u-shaped
clip. With this done you can unbolt the caliper, slip the hard line out of
the bracket (instead of having to disconnect the lines) and hang the
caliper from something. I haven't had to break open my front brake lines
in years by doing this little trick.
