TOY: Transfer case part?

I took apart my spare transfer case last night and while tapping the
reduction box off with a rubber mallet a small piece fell out.  I had the
2wd/4wd case separated and all the gears off the shaft when this part fell
out.  The part is about an inch long and looks kinda like a medicine
capsule.  I looked all over to try and find a place that this piece would
fit but could not.  Does any one know where it goes?
