TOY: IFS 4x's
Hey All,
I was wondering what the general consensus is on IFS lifts. I have never
played around with an IFS rig before and haven't paid attention to many of
the posts regarding IFS rigs. I have 2 85's so haven't needed to. I'm going
to get a 92-94 v6 x-cab 4x for a commuter and want to run 33's and 4.88's.
I will be using it in snow and sand and a little mud, hauling a quad around
and general farm work ( hauling and pulling). I'm looking for a good
quality lift of about 4" that will provide room for the tires ( 33x12.5's)
and some amount of flex ( my runner handles everything else ). It will be
driven daily about 100 miles and I would like a nice road ride out of it.
Also in what year did Toyota put in the larger v6's ? I'm not interested in
a Taco. Were all years of 3.0l v6's covered under the TSB head gasket
recall? Anything I should pay attention to while inspecting a truck? Does
anybody run 5.29's with 33's and a v6? Are they necessary? I have them in
my runner ( 4 cyl ) and could see where anything larger than 35" is going
to make the final drive ratio lacking. I could also see where they might be
nice to run with 33's in a 4cyl truck but not sure about the v6.
Any help would be appreciated. I'll probably get this truck within the
week so am looking forward to hearing from anybody with suggestions.
