Man, that's some quality breakage!  I wish I'd been there!

Did it just tensile-fail the five bolts holding the pinion flange
onto the housing, or was it something else?

That's even more impressive than the outer stub I twisted
off, that then pushed through the hub cover and shot chunks
of the hub at the gawkers watching me break my truck.  :)
