This is a common problem among drag cars, but they bend
Ford 9" axles like this. The solution (for them) is to weld a
big brace onto the backside of the axle housing (doesn't take
any ground clearance) to truss it from the front-to-back
bending load that it sees.
This has also been seen by a number of hardcore rock
crawlers, generally attributed to dragging the diff and pulling
forward with the wheels in that particular usage.
So it's not just Toy axles, and not just yours, and unless you
know *where* it bent, that D60/Toy creation you mentioned,
probably won't help anyway. Your post suggested that you
are running a Toy center with D60 tubes/ends, but I couldn't
tell just what exactly you're running. If you've still got the Toy
center, are you sure you didn't bend the old housing through
the center, or very close to it? How do you know you didn't
transfer that weak spot over to your new housing?
Not trying to start a war, but I fail to see how a D60 with a
Toy diff, is any stronger than a stock Toy axle. What am I
missing here?
