Second low (with 4.7 and 4.88's) will probably be lower than first
low would with 2.28 and 5.29's. I don't know exactly how much,
because I can't remember what Second actually *is*, but I recall
it being somewhere around 2.5-2.9something.

With the stock Toyota transmission, I have a feeling that Third
(around 1.5-1.7ish) will be just slightly higher in 4.7 Low, than
First is now, in 2.28 low. Not much, just a little. There's a good
chance you'll be using Second and Third a fair bit with the 4.7,
and First only on the nasty rocks. As it is for me, I hardly even
use low range any more (with a 6.34 tranny, 36's, lockers, and
4.11 gears, I don't seem to need it much on anything but rocks)
but I'm spending half my time snow bashing and/or on easy
trails with the club trips... you can't run a "family club" through a
trail like Independence and expect even 25% of the club to be
back for next month's run. Gotta run easier stuff so that even
the guys with the stock trucks can enjoy themselves, and not
just smash body panels.
