Personally, I don't think that the 1/2" is going to do all that you want it
to do. You will not be moving exactly 1/2" away from the tires - think
about it being angled like it is. I did a little figuring... if the angle
of the firewall were 45degrees and you moved the body up 1/2", you would
actually gain less than 3/8". If the angle of the firewall were 60degrees
and you moved the body straight up 1/2", you would gain 1/4" of
clearance....
Anyhow, do you understand what I am trying to say?
It will help, but will it be worth the effort? It is up to you to decide.
