I am working on a rear disc conversion to complement the IFS/4 & FJ40
combination. The master cylinder will be a V6. The rear brakes are where I
am being different than everyone else. The main prerequisite for me was
off-the-shelf, unmodified parts, preferrably Toyota. The rotors will be
non-vented solid axle 4x4 front rotors mounted up outside the wheel flange.
The calipers were donated from the rear of a '88-'91 Camry with the rear
disc/drum combination. This means no e-brake but the replacement for that is
also in the works and will be transfer case mounted. Besides, I haven't had
an e-brake for nearly ten years now... don't remember how to use one :-)
Hopefully the rear disc will be installed by the end of the month and I'll
let you know the results.
