What to do? Advise needed...
This is kind of Toyota related, but a friend needs some help on a decision.
The "friend" is Trevor, the guy who helps me work on my Toy all the time (& I
help with his). Check the Friend's Rigs section of my web site to see some
old pics, or the Tech Info section for several mods to his truck we have
done. Here is a recent pic:

Anyway, here is the dilemma: he has the opportunity to trade his truck title
for title for a Jeep Cherokee.
To shed a little light on this dilemma, here are a few of the things done to
Trev's truck:
1985 Toy Xtra cab truck, 22R engine, header, dual exhaust, electric fan, Warn
8274 winch, custom front & rear tube bumpers, off-road lights, rock lights,
5.29 gears, rear lockright, front ARB, YJ 2.5" lift springs up front, front
axle moved 1" forward, IFS rear axle, 4" Skyjacker rear springs & buggy
leaves, longer than stock shackles, Rancho 9012s on the front with custom
shock mounts, 14" travel Doetsch Tech rear shocks on the rear angled inward,
rear air tank for onboard air & for the ARB, custom front driveshaft with
Chevy parts, nerf bars welded to the frame, Custom vent shades, custom bed
bar, custom bed mount for spare tire, 4 pretty new 35x14.5 swamper Thronbirds
on Chrome & black 15x10 wheels.
Now, for the Cherokee (from what I can remember):
early 90's 4 door Cherokee Limited, leather, all power. That is about where
the normal part ends, and where the tough decision starts...
It has a Chevy 350, fuel injected, and about $6000 worth of hi-po parts in it
alone. I think it has an auto tranny, and I don't know about the Tcase
(probably a 203). The rear axle is a 14 bolt, and the front is a Dana 60 -
full width. 35x16 boggers on 15x12 white wagon wheels. Not sure about the
gears - 4.10's or 4.56's I think. welded front diff, and ARB rear locker.
Honestly this thing has over $20,000 in it...
So, that is where he is. He just called & asked me what I thought - so I
will ask all of you what you think. Put aside the Toyota favortism - I would
liek some honest opinions on this.
Also, he would like this to be a full time trail machine, yet road capable if
need be. Trev also has a 6 mo. old baby, so the extra room in the back seat
would be nice when the baby gets older so he can come along too.
BTW, we both will go look at the Cherokee this weekend some time & take it
for an interstate drive.
Anyway, what say ye?
