rear spring whellbase tolerance
Ok this is my first post here.
I am just testing the water............:-)
Well I just install skyjacker 2 inch rear spring due to the original was
sagging and my baby son got thrown form his seat every time I hit a bump.
But after the install I notice that I am gaining some wheel base. This is
very noticeable on an 89 4Runner with 33 inch tires on only 1 inch lift.
The rear of the tire is really close to the fender to almost touching the
rear mud guard.
How many clearance do I have around the centering pin hole? I think I will
need at least 1/2 inch forward. I never have problem like this on my other
spring set. I don't want to remove it again and send it back to skyjacker.
It was just too much work without lift.
Any suggestion on how to correct it? I am sure I got the center pin in the
locating holes and I feel like there is not much clearance there. I don't
think skyjacker sent me the wrong set either. This should be the same as
84-88 pickup right not the same as 89-95 Pickup? Sometimes finding parts
for 89 4Runner is a bit mixed up between that year.
TIA
Auggie
