Ash,
The best years are '76-'79 and they have D44's, rr centered, some
with disc brakes (the one you're looking for). The woe for YJ folks
is the pig is on the pass side in front, which won't matter if your
using a non-YJ t.case ( the best of which is a Ford D20 w/2.46 or
after market low gearset, pig to the driver's side). The pig appears
on the driver's side from '80 up. I wouldn't despair of finding a
AMC20 on an SJ. They have the thick housing and good one piece axles,
that the CJ's don't have.
