JPOR: Wagoneer Rear Dana 44

Hi All,
    I've been looking for an SJ with a "centered" rear differential.  All I 
can find are a Quadra-trac rears and one M20.  I'm probably going to snatch 
the front 44 from one of the quadra's for my YJ (I'm using a D300 x-case).  
Getting to the point, I think I've managed to locate one SJ that is of 
pre-Quadra-trac year model.  My question is, did they use D44 rears before 
the QT's?  I've heard they used some D27's and D30's (prior to '74) in the 
front, so I'm curious about the rear???
