Re: JPOR: Hurculiner Install
I used just under a gallon of Durabak to coat the front part of my XJ,
interior, not including the cargo area. More recently I used about a
gallon and a pint of Herculiner to coat the interior, including the
cargo area of my other XJ. Since they come in quarts as the smallest
size, you'll have to plan to the nearest quart. I used some on my door
sills and some areas of my welded on rocker protection, so it all got
used up.
The biggest advice I have is don't let the stuff dry on your hands.
Last time I worked for part of the time with some gloves and that helped
a lot. The Xylene that is used to prep the surface and to clean up, is
not recommended to make skin contact. I used some sparingly on a rag to
clean my hands since I knew from experience that it can take weeks for
it to "wear off" if you wait too long.
The advice of staying well ventilated is a good one. I tried to take
frequent fresh air breaks even though I was working on a vehicle that
was parked outside.
The other advice I'd have is don't rush through the drying stage between
coats. The results I got the second go around by waiting longer between
coats was much better. It does seem to take longer for each coat to dry
than the manufacturer says......
