JPOR: Pig shaving :)

While working on my control arm placement jig last night I did a little
pig shaving on my new front differential.  I cut about a 1/4" off the
bottom of the Ford D44.  There is still plenty of casting for strength,
but I did gain a little clearance and smoothed things a little bit.  The
distance from the center of the axle tube to the bottom of the pig is
about 5" on this D44 now.  The same measurement on a xj D30 showed 4
5/8", so I am only losing 3/8" clearance on the lowest part of the front
diff by switching to a D44.  Now the width of the D44 pig is a bit more
than the D30 and the tubes are 2 3/4" compared to 2 1/2", so there is a
little more metal in these regions to catch rocks and such.  Jeff
