RE: JPOR: Ford 5.0 in a CJ
Brad, same problem I'm having. The mounts I got from you didn't lift the
engine high enough. the PS bracket rubs on the steering column, even after
I cut part of bracket away.

Brad -
The engine is further from the firewall then the 258 was.
Very nice to get
to bellhousing bolts.
Using a clutch fan, it lines up 'perfect' with the Howe 2
core aluminum
radiator that I'm using. No fan shroud and no heating
problems.
It also lines up exactly with my T18/D300 that I was running
before. I did
not have to drill any holes for the tranny mount/skidplate
mount.
Only issue that I had that I don't think that mikE had - I
don't know why -
is that I had to shim some between the mounts and the block.
The angle of
the mounts does not line up with the angle of the block.
About an inch in
the rear, I think. Check out Gil Meacham's page
(http://www.wvi.com/~meach/intro.htm). He has pics of his
same problem
Oh yea 0 you will have to cut away from the PS bracket - it
interferes with
the steering column.
