RE: JPOR: Dana 60/70
as a counterpoint ot my own argument, I think that's why you have to take
everything in Emap-Petersen, or any mag (are there any other publishers
anymore?) with a grain of salt.
It must be real hard NOT to feature you biggest advertizer who happens to
buy a minumum of 2 color full-page ads in EVERY one of your truck rags (I
mean YOU 4 Wheel Parts Whoresalers). I understand the point of view, but
it's hard to swallow the sheer monetary volume of work they have done at
4WPW in all the mags added up.
And since Emap-Petersen centralizes practically all of the truck mags in
that hellish rathole of a city, you always read of the same 3 or 4 shops in
the Southern Kalifornia area.
And besides, how many Ingersoll-Rand wielding, self-fabricating, howler
monkeys like us can possibly be out there? :-)

Advertising contracts influence JP too. I remember an article they had
comparing the Moser one piece axle kit for the Dana 20, vs. a swapping in a
Dana 44. Their comparison raved the Moser conversion as being more
economical because they were comparing it to buying a new Dana 44. Who does
that? Why not compare it to the real world and buy one in a junk yard?
