All of the systems I have seen have a separate motor and compressor which
are connected by a belt. Pay attention to the power requirements needed.
For the average home owner, get the biggest one you can get that will run
off of a 110V, 20A circuit. Everyone seems to have Craftsmen around here,
probably because they are readily available and have a good warranty
program.

Ok, this is a bit off topic, but it dose have to do with working on
Jeeps ;-).
I am in the market for a good air compressor, something between 5 and 6
horse and 20 to 35 gal tank. What is up with these compressors that
have the single motor and pump system. How do they compare with the
older type separate motor separate compressor? What is a good brand,
what should I stay away from? Thanks for your help..
