JPOR: Urgent! friend in trouble

A buddy of mine was on vacation in southeast Arizona (3 hrs from Phoenix)
and managed to grenade his D35 gears the day before he was gonna head
home. Of course, this is a holiday weekend, so he's having a terrible
time trying to find parts or labor to repair/replace the thing. He's
a competent mechanic, but his tools & shop are half way across the country
here in Nebraska.

Due to time constraints (he's already two days overdue to his job),
he's probably just gonna grab a stock D35 ('87-93 yoke) of whatever
ratio he can find just to get him back to Nebraska. He has 3.54
gears up front, but figures 4.11 gears would have a better resale
value here in Nebraska. He'll be upgrading to something stronger
upon his return, so mismatched gears aren't a problem. The problem
is that most yards he's called want $650-700 for a D35. That's about
double what they seem to be worth around here.

Anyway, I'm putting out a desperate plea to anybody in that area of
the country, especially Phoenix, who's able to help him. If you know
of a yard or other source for a cheap D35, please let me know. He
doesn't have email access down there, so if I could give him your
phone number & you could help him track one down, we'd be forever
in your debt.

Can anybody down there help Matt? Please? He's gonna phone me late
tonight to see if I've got any leads for him.
