try this (and don't laugh)
but have you ever driven the truck without a gas cap?
sometimes, the vent line or the charcoal canister gets clogged and the tank
can't pull in fresh air to displace the gasoline bieng pumped out. if your
vent system is clogged, then your pump will be fighting a vacuum in the tank
and won't pump as much fuel. that would do exactly what you're talking
about. If you run the truck without the gas cap, and your problems
dissapear, then the prob lies in your tank vent system. This is rare thing
to go wrong, and I've seen this problem maybe 4 times in my life.
