JPOR: Wrangler Spring Over Done.
Just finished my spring over axle conversion with 2.5" Rubicon Express
springs. Ramped it with no shocks, and got a 1080 on a 20* ramp, with the
brand new springs. I believe it will do better as they break in. Woohoo!
That's up from 980 with a Rubicon Express 4" spring under axle lift. I have
22" under the t-case skid plate and 27" under the rocker. I had anticipated
all these problems with steering, drive shafts and shocks. As it turns out
the shocks from the four inch lift are long enough, the rear driveshaft has
to be lengthened and the front one is fine. The steering just needs a
little bit longer of a drag link. I need the drag link longer because the
steering box is no longer centered and it turns more to the left than to the
right. Now my questions. What would be a donor vehicle I can get a longer
drag link from? It probably has to be 2" longer. Chris Waterman, What did
you do about your steering? Anyone else do this?
