Jeff,

Several reasons actually. First and foremost I had fried my old motor after
overheating it while doing a clean up on a local adopt a river. I have never
winched so much in one day in all my life. Second why not upgrade as long as
you have to replace. The new one is rated at 4.6 horse motor as opposed to
the old one which was around 3??? The new should be able to pull harder and
for longer periods before it overheats. On the plus side it is faster as
well.
