Jefe,
I think you use one of these or was I dreaming that? If so how do you
like it. How big of tank do you have? How many tire fills are you
getting per tank? I have a leftover CO2 tank in my garage I was thinking
about putting to this use and wanted some feed back before I started
making some brakets to mount it up.
Thanks

Mike,
I've used the Premium Power Tank, 10 lb. model for a year and
a half. It's about 18-20" tall. It's certainly been good for me. They
advertise you can get 40 fills on jeep tires, but in my experience
with 35-12.5's I get a max of 22 fills (from +/-10 lbs. to 28 lbs.).
This is still enough to do a whole week at Moab, filling up to about
22 lbs. (enough for low speed driving) everyday at the pavement. You
can fill more tires if you don't go so high on the pressure. It costs
me just under $10 to fill it. It will run air tools also, even better
than my air compressor at home, as you can run at a constant 110 lbs.
Changing tires is a snap.
Mine is located behind the center console and strapped to the
CJ8 bulkhead. I can get to all my tires from the center of the Jeep
without moving the tank..
I don't see why you couldn't use another tank as long as you
got a dual regulator, one valve to open the tank, and the other to
regulate the pressure.
Without sounding like an infomercial, I do like the
simplicity of the rig.
Just a couple valves. This beats an AC pump with attendant moving
parts and plumbing, and can move from Jeep to Jeep. Mine has a nice
carrying handle which also serves as protection for the regulator. If
the regulator is broken off or such, the tank becomes a torpedo ready
to kill, maim, or destroy,..... or at least be quite a show.
One other thing. The CO2 comes out very cold and will freeze
and crack an ordinary air hose. The Tank comes with a special plastic
curlie hose that will not freeze up in use. Pat's website:
