Front axle Q's

I know I should know all this, but I've either forgotten, or wasn't
paying attention in the first place.  I currently have a Scout 44, with
stock CJ hubs, and brakes.  (knuckles out)  I would like bigger brakes,
but must stick to the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern.   The reason, I've picked
up a set of nearly new Currie 9"ers.  Front doesn't have any knuckles,
brakes, etc, but does have the outer stub shafts.  CJ parts are spozed
to work on it.  (hey Bart! are they 27 spline outers?)  So, my question
is.   Will Ford knuckeles, and brakes work with CJ sytle hubs?  Are Ford
F150 brakes bigger than CJ?  Basically, what is the biggest brake I can
put on my CJ style hubs?
