According to what the AA Jeep Conversions book says, the BA10/5 was used in
YJ's from 87-89 and the AX-15 from 89-95. Both used internal slave/throw out
bearings. (I think the TJ's uses an external slave and some of the 95 YJ's may
have, too... 2000 TJ's use a NVG 3550 instead of the AX-15 though.) The BA
10/5 can be identified by an overall length of 16.75" with a 7.5"" t-case
adapter and the AX-15 is 17.00" long with a 7.25" adapter. The BA 10/5 also
has a seam directly down the middle of the case. Also the output splines on
the BA10/5 are 21, whereas the AX-15 is 23, so if you're considering a swap,
you'll need to change the input gear in the t-case as well (or use the t-case
from the AX-15).

Yes, all of them did until at least 95. (You can find them in 89-up XJ, MJ and
few rare early 4.0L/5-spd powered ZJ's.)
