To improve the shock's performance, it should mount to the axle tube on a
relatively long arm.  That way, small twists in the axle are amplified at
the end of the arm and hence, the shock has faster, longer, and "weaker"
movement to fight against.  As for as the fore/aft changes from droop are
concerned, it won't be amplified, assuming the angles are still the same.
