I might just give it a try.  To my way of thinking, I don't want to limit
the axle movement at all.  When you  have a solid bar on the bottom of the
axle you take away the fore and aft movement of the axle.  With a shock at
least you have the ability to have it different lengths.  I am just curious
if it would stop the axle from wraping?  Anyone want to venture a guess?  I
know we have some engineers on this list.
