The idea seems to sit well with me. You have two mounting points on the
axle tube. Those two mounting points stop the axle from twisting the spring
into an "S" shape. With the shackle on the front end it will still let the
axle move for and aft, which it has to do when the spring is compressing.
The problem that I see with putting just one mounting point on the axle is
that you have to make the other end fixed on the frame. That is going to
take away from articulartion because you limit the fore and aft movement of
the axle housing. The only possible way that it will twist with two
mounting points is to change the shape of the traction bar. Does that makes
sense?
