I acquired the trailer while doing a site walk for one of my projects.  I do Environmental Consulting and one of the cool things about my job is that I get to visit a lot of different places and hopefully run across something cool. In this case, I happened upon an upside down trailer.  I immediately recognized the slanted sides, the military tail lights and non-directional tires. So I asked the Mrs. who was touring me around her property if she'd be interested in selling it.. She says she has to talk to the Mr... I call him up later that afternoon and discuss the trailer with him.. Turns out he has owned the trailer for about 20 years (hmmm, might inquire with him as to where he bought it from)  to tow behind his CJ..  I think I remember him saying he paid $300 for it back then. I ask if he'd take $300 for it and he says 'how about $250"... not too often you get a seller underbidding you!  :-)   He says come by Saturday to pick it up (this was Thursday) as he has to get his tractor to pick it up.  Turns out he set it in his driveway and between Thursday and Saturday he had four offers to buy the trailer!!!  I went by Sat, gave him the $250 in cash, hooked it up to my truck and was on my way home with a cool trailer!  According to information compiled from the www.G503.com bulletin board and discussions with Chuck Lutz, there were only 221 Transportation Equipment Co.T-1, trailers manufactured...and I have one of them!

Here is a picture of what it looked like when I discovered it covered with leaves and debris:
