By: Mark DeNittis - May 2005
Carl Miron has been a four wheel drive enthusiast for almost thirty years. Due to the limited places people have to go four wheeling, he decided to build a private, legal, and safe place to go four-wheeling. By building the C.O.R.E. park, he hopes to take some of the congestion off the public trails. Fewer people, less damage, and fewer complaints will hopefully help keep public trails open for years to come.
The click, click, click wasn't Dorothy’s heels, and we were not in Kansas anymore. The clicking sound was the axle diffs locking up on C.O.R.E.’s rock sluice. The rock sluice is just one feature of Carl Miron’s the new Colorado Off Road Extreme (C.O.R.E.) off road park, located on I-70 about 50 miles east of Denver.
Colorado Off Road Extreme is an 800-Acre off road park for Trucks, SUVs, Jeeps and all types of four-wheel drive vehicles. C.O.R.E. offers a legal, private, and controlled place for four-wheeling enthusiasts and will include a 1 1/2 Mile Off Road Track, Mud Bogging, Obstacle Course, Tough Truck track, and Rock Crawling just to name a few. The park will also include the largest Motocross and ATV riding facility in the state of Colorado (owned and operated by TRW MX Ranch). C.O.R.E. is located fifty miles east of Denver on Interstate 70.

| C.O.R.E. offers all different types of 4-wheeling fun to test your vehicles capability, including driving over cars, dirt and rock piles, and giant tires built up with dirt and cars. | ||
"Lack of good mudding places, more and more closures, heavy winter snows blocking mountain trails, and a place to escape the hustle and bustle of Denver" was the driving force behind Miron’s12-year-long vision, now come to pass. This new jewel-in-the-rough will be a place for local Tough Truck Events, Mud Bogging, and Rock Crawling events. UROC, CALROC, and the others are also looking at the property, so C.O.R.E. might be hosting a sanctioned event or two down the road.
Currently, there are car crushing obstacles, a muddy snake and horseshoe track, along with a BIG field of mud. There are acres upon acres of play areas. Future expansion will focus on developing a Tough Truck area, Hill Climb, and Log and Tire Bale obstacles.

| Carl Miron has created a park with variety. Try some mud bogging, race around the 1 1/2 mile dirt track, or (like the author) play in the rocks. | ||
C.O.R.E. isn’t just for play. It’s also a proving ground for some well known Rock Crawling companies. You don’t have to be a professional tube buggy engineer, however, to test your stuff. Anyone with a project vehicle can come out to see if their rig will pass the rigors of C.O.R.E.’s many 4-wheeling opportunities.
Spring of 2005 plans include a picnic area, children’s playground, and off-road obstacle course. Donations of any items such as picnic tables, playground equipment, and even rocks and boulders (not many rocks in the plains) would be most appreciated and helpful for this new business venture.
Carl spends time playing on his own creation, of course. The owner’s vehicle of choice is a lifted Ford F-350. The big truck's Powerstroke diesel cranks out 470HP, which gets him around, up, or through any of the obstacles. Plus, he’s got the power to pull out the occasional stuck vehicle on the 800 acres.
