Anyone know where the coolant temperature sensor is on the 22r?
If so, can you describe or take a quick pic?

Thanks.

on my 88 there are 2 below the front of the throttle body/thermostat housing
and the one in the big housing a little farther back
as i understand there is a sensor and a switch
dunno which is which
the one underneath has a different name than coolant sensor(?)
one test is negative probe on battery neg.,
test negative wire at sensor for voltage, should be zero of course
positive will vary voltage as it warms...
this should distinguish the switch from the sensor for you

I'm looking for the one that runs the guage.
Is it one of the ones that I've marked 'L' or 'R'?

Does the wire with the little harness connect to anything?

oh *rap
i have a RE and yours look a little different
sorry
plus i don't even know about the ones on the R
but you should be able to test them pretty easy like i mentioned
and if it mounts into a coolant passage, it's a coolant sensor...
of some sort
that loose wire looks exactly like my coolant temp. sender for the dash guage i believe

Ken,

Neither one of the switches in the picture is for the guage. The sender is located in the front of the intake manifold near the fuel pump area.

The little connector that you pictured is the wire that connects to the temperature sending unit.
