Crazy blinker problem

I have a weird blinker problem. When I use the left blinker both right and left blinkers come on. The right blinker works fine. It happens with the headlights or brake lights on or off (all the time in other words). I checked for a burnt out bulb but they all looked okay. Maybe I just need to drop a twenty and change out all the bulbs... Any suggestions?
