According to the service manual you should bleed the system, never done it myself but these are the instructions from the manual.
you can also check the manual out herehttp://www.kiatechinfo.com/index.asp

1. Raise and support the front of the vehicle.
2. Check the fluid level of the power steeirng at the reserve tank.
3. With the engine off, turn the steering wheel full-right and ful-left several times.
4. Check the fluid level again. If fluid level is lower, add fluid as required.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until fluid reaches and remains at the proper level.
6. Start the engine and let run at idle speed.
7. Turn the steering wheel full-left and full-right several times.
8. Check the power steeirng fluid a the reserve tank.
There should be no foam in the fluid
