Why on earth does Downey insist on slip fittings on their header collectors? My 88 has downey headers, which are great other than this. The bummer is that the PO's exhaust shop welded the (otherwise nice) exhaust system right to the headers, and did so with no flex pipe whatsoever. So the entire thing vibrates. If they weren't such a PITA to install, I'd pull them out and put ball connectors on the collectors, but short of that, will a section of flex pipe after each collector help reduce the vibration?
Oh... I s'pose I should note; I actually drove the 4Runner this weekend.
