Inlet Heater Hose Leak - NOT the heater core?
      11/23/05 10:34 AM

Okay, maybe my heater core is fine. When the heater and air is off, I still get coolant leaking onto my floor board (driver's side). While troubleshooting last night I noticed some coolant leaking at the hose going into the firewall (inlet heater hose), farthest right when looking into engine bay (I beleive this is the inlet hose). Then, looking under the dash (which I have torn apart), I noticed that the black sound deadening material against the firewall has coolant on the back of it. So, this leads me to believe my leak is where the rubber hose meets the hard line going into the heater core. When I took the rubber hose off the firewall, the hard line is still holding coolant, which makes me think the hard line and heater core are not leaking.

Does this make sense? From all my searching and reading about coolant on the driver's side floor board and heater core problems, I am thinking this is the problem and should be the fix (of course I find it after disassembling the dash).

Sorry for the long post....

Thanks,
James
