Bretwalda,

working in harsh environments as I do, we use Raychem products as well as a few others. Oilfield drilling electronics have to generally be pretty hardy in order to survive. Now with that out of the way, several wire looms on some of our tools need to be shielded. You can actually find multi-conductor cables with one shield, or multiple conductors with each having its own shield. The point I am getting at is that you would much rather go with the old harness salvaged from the junkyard. The wiring you would want to use is more expensive than I care to think about.

Now....if you need some good heat shrink tubing...then give me a email at db_tanker@hotmail.com and I can hook you up there. We have clear, high-temp and a white low-temp. The high temp you can use a heat gun on, but you will be at it awhile. We use a hand-sized propane torch to shrink it.
