T case options.

I noticed you guys were hoping to get some gears from AU. Has anyone thought about running a different case completely ? Something with some aftermarket support. Like a Toyota, Isuzu, NP or Dana ? Maybe you guys would have to go to a complete different drive line. Im not sure I'm planning on looking into what can be done to drop a GM 6 preferably a 4.3 with a manual trans. and go to a different case. Im not sure what i can matt up. Right now this is all a idea. But im hoping to find something that can maybe be relatively easy to do.
