Charging: Alternator, going through alternators
      07/29/00 04:23 PM

My '88 Raider is eating alternators it seems. I have gone through 2 rebuilt ones in the last 5 months! The 1st one shorted out, and began pulsating all the lights. The retailer replaced it, but said it was because I got it wet off-roading. Now, this one has a bearing going out. Again he claims it's from getting it wet! Sure, I get it wet at times off-roading. But it also gets wet driving on the highway during a rain storm!
I'm not sure if they will honor this warranty again, or blame it on me.
Has anyone, ever had any kind of trouble like this? It sure sounds like defective rebuilts to me, but he is a reputable retailer whom I have dealt with for a long time.
Is there any way to AVOID getting this thing wet?!?

Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.
