JDM Engine Question

I'm looking at purchasing a JDM engine as a replacement engine for my current build up.

The JDM place says the engine is compatible with a 95 Montero SR but came it comes out of front wheel drive car.

Does anyone know if there are differences internally between the 3.5 DOHC for a Montero and a car?

I understand that I need to swap external parts for the engine to work but curious if internally one engine is more stout than the other.
