could you turn a Gen 1 into a trailor?

Seems quite awhile back somebody posted a Gen 2 that had been made into a camper trailor.
Go me thinkin' (that's dangerous).
If you took a gen 1 4 door,,,removed everything in front of the firewall,,,(of coarse weld a Y frame hitch thing),,,remove trans/tranfer (and Gas tank untill after licencing).
I think in CA you have to remove guts of diff or put straight axle in.

all that said , would balance and toungue wieght make this just another KrzyDav pipe dream?????
