1988 Raider Fixer

I am looking at purchasing a 1988 Raider with a blown 2.6L engine. I am seeking guidance on a replacement engine. I would like something with more guts than the stock motor, but would rather not make a lot of mods to fit it in. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
