back from the dead

Alright its been a few months now I think since I rolled my truck, since then I have swapped over a new body and did away with the manual transmission and put in an auto... Now that I have the truck running and have gotten over many obstacles, I have ran into one more... Somehow my kickdown cable got melted and the inner plastic melted to the cable and would not move. Toasty had cut away the melted sections of plastic and freed it up again BUT it still has problems pulling back in. The plastic also has broken off where it goes into the transmission..... So my question is: How hard is it to replace the kickdown cable and what is involved?
